چکیده
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) are a recent yet revolutionary development in communications systems. Particularly applicable to millileter wave (mmWave) systems, these can increase localization performance and decrease vulnerability environmental influences, all by adjusting the incoming signals’ phase. At same time, manufacturing ideal hardware be deployed at transceivers is not feasible nor practical. These non-linearities hardware, collectively known as impairments (HWIs), cause signal degradation adversely affect localization. In this paper, effect of HWIs on RIS-aided examined. Towards that, mean squared error (MSE) user’s position found through maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) its functionality verified bounds (PEB), derived from Cramér-Rao lower (CRLB). Our numerical results show that active RISs mitigate deteriorating PEB. Based our outcome, increasing inter-RISs space generally creates more resolvable paths leads improved

Error-rate Analysis of OFDM Operating over Mobile Rayleigh Radio Channel under Multiple RF Impairments
We investigate the sensitivity of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) waveforms to the joint distortion effects of various coexisting non-idealities in the implementation of transceiver radio frequency (RF) electronics, combined also with time variations of the multipath radio channel. We report closed-form performance analysis for a general OFDM mobile radio link, which includes ...
متن کاملError Bounds in Parameter Estimation Under Mismatch
In this paper we develop a new upper bound for the mean square estimation error of a parameter that takes values on a bounded interval. The bound is based on the discretization of the region into a finite number of points, and the determination of the estimate by a maximum likelihood procedure. It is assumed that inaccurate versions of the true spectra are utilized in the implementation of the ...
متن کاملError bounds for EEG and MEG dipole source localization.
General formulas are presented for computing a lower bound on localization and moment error for electroencephalographic (EEG) or magnetoencephalographic (MEG) current source dipole models with arbitrary sensor array geometry. Specific EEG and MEG formulas are presented for multiple dipoles in a head model with 4 spherical shells. Localization error bounds are presented for both EEG and MEG for ...
متن کاملMobile Robot Localization Under Varying Illumination
Methods for mobile robot localization that use eigenspaces of panoramic snapshots of the environment are in general sensitive to changes in the illumination of the environment. Therefore, we propose in this paper an approach which achieves a reliable localization under severe illumination conditions by illumination insensitive eigenspaces. The method in question uses gradient filtering of the e...
متن کاملCramér-Rao Lower Bounds for hybrid localization of mobile terminals
While the problem of locating a mobile station (MS) in outdoor scenarios is solved through the introduction of the Global Positioning System (GPS), in dense urban and indoor scenarios problems appear resulting from the attenuation or complete shadowing of the satellite signals, so that GPS often can not provide MS location estimates [1]. However, the existing cellular radio network (CRN)-based ...
